Sharpless 2-275 - The Rosette Nebula
This image was taken with the Hyperstar 3 equipped Nexstar 11GPS on 03/20/10 under the relatively dark skies of Dewey, AZ. The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This color shot was then stacked with the black and white Hydrogen-Alpha shot taken on 9/09/09.
The image below was taken with the Hyperstar 3 equipped Nexstar 11GPS on 9/09/09 under the light-polluted skies of Tempe, AZ. The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This original shot was taken with a Hydrogen-Alpha filter fitted into the Canon camera.
This image is a stack of over a hundred 25-second ISO-1600 subs taken with Nebulosity 2 and stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. I used Nebulosity to split the stacked image into its three color (RGB) components and used the red component for this image. The Rosette Nebula is also known as Caldwell 49.
