Sharpless 2-108 - An Emission Nebula

 


This image was taken with the Hyperstar 3 equipped Nexstar 11GPS on 9/09/09 under the light-polluted skies of Tempe, AZ. The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This shot was taken with a Hydrogen-Alpha filter fitted into the Canon camera.







This image is a stack of over fifty 25-second ISO-1600 subs taken with Nebulosity 2 and stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. I used Nebulosity to split the stacked image into its three color (RGB) components and used the red component for this image. Sharpless 2-108 is also know as IC 1318
