M8 - The Lagoon Nebula
This shot was originally a set of 40 subs taken with the Hyperstar 3 equipped Nexstar 11GPS on 4/20/09, and then I added another 87 subs to the stack on 7-21-09. On both evenings, it was shot under the light polluted skies of Tempe, Arizona.
The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This image is a stack of 8, 10, and 12 second IS0-1600 subs aligned using Registar and then stacked in Nebulosity 2. M8, the Lagoon Nebula is also known as NGC 6523.
