M63 - The Sunflower Galaxy
This is one of the first shots taken using my autoguided eight-inch Celestron SCT riding an ASGT equitorial mount. Guiding was provided by a Q-Guider camera running PHD guiding software and mounted in a modified Celestron 50mm finder scope.
The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This image is a stack of 51 90-second IS0-800 subs stacked in Nebulosity 2. It must be noted that sky conditions were less than optimal for Dewey as we had a large forest fire going on near Flagstaff at the time. Things were just a little hazy probably due to smoke from the fire.
