M52 - An Open Star Cluster

This image was taken with modified Canon 1000XS camera and the Hyperstar 3 lens system on a Nexstar 11 GPS. The image was captured on October 8, 2012 from the relatively bright skies of Tempe, AZ.


The star cluster known as Messier 52 is an open star cluster aproximately 5000 light years from Earth. This image is fun because I also caught the Caldwell Object 11, the Bubble Nebula in the same field of view as M52...
