M50 - Open Cluster

 


This shot was taken on 2/10/10, using a Slooh remote-controlled telescope in Dome 2 of their facility in the Canary Islands. The telescope used was a 85mm f/5.6 apochromatic refractor and the camera was a SBIG ST-2000XM. This shot is the result of a processed 5 minute exposure.








The open cluster, M50, is about 3,300 light years from earth.
