M48 - Open Cluster

 


This shot was taken with my Canon 1000xs using the Nexstar 11GPS telescope with the Hyperstar 3 lens system. The shot was taken on 3/20/10 under the relatively dark skies of Dewey, Arizona. This shot is the result of a stack of about 50 15-second subs.







M48 is approximately 2,000 light years from Earth.
