M45 - The Pleiades or Seven Sisters

This image was taken with an Orion 102 ED refractor telescope and a modified Canon 1000XS camera.


The star cluster known as the Pleiades is approximately 400 light years away. As you can see, the star cluster is surrounded by a beautiful blue nebulosity. Interestingly, the star cluster may not be related to the nebula, according to one source I came across, they may just be passing through each other.
