M38 - Open Cluster

This shot was taken with my Canon 1000xs using the Nexstar 11GPS telescope with the Hyperstar 3 lens system. The shot was taken on 2/16/10 under the relatively dark skies of Dewey, Arizona. This shot is the result of a stack of about 75 20-second subs.

M38 is the large cluster on the upper left of the shot. The much smaller and tighter open cluster to the lower right is NGC1907. M38 is approximately 4,200 light years from Earth.
