M20 - The Triffid Nebula

 


This image is a combination of shots taken with the Hyperstar 3 equipped Nexstar 11GPS on 4/20/09 and 7/26/09 under the light polluted skies of Phoenix. The Triffid Nebula is also known as The Clover Nebula and NGC 6514. It is approximately 5,000 light years away.







The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This image is a stack of over a hundred 10-second IS0-800 and 12-second ISO-1600 subs stacked in Nebulosity 2.
