M16 - The Eagle Nebula

 


This shot was taken with the Hyperstar 3 equipped Nexstar 11GPS on 7/12/09 under the light polluted skies of Phoenix.







The camera used was the modified Canon Rebel 1000xs. This image is a stack of 10-second IS0-1600 subs stacked in Nebulosity 2. The Eagle Nebula is also known as The Ghost Nebula and NGC 6611 and is approximately 9000 light-years away.
