Caldwell 20 - The North America Nebula
This shot was taken with the modified Canon 1000XS using my Nexstar 11GPS with the Hyperstar3 system on 5/23/09. Caldwell 20 is also known as NGC 7000 and Sharpless 2-117. This shot was taken under the dark skies of Dewey Arizona. Unfortunately, even with the extremely wide field I get with the Hyperstar, it wasn't really large enough to get the whole nebula in one shot. I ended up with the shot taken sideways... Does that look like the profile of an elephant to you? It does to me...
